Climbers following a fixed rope up a snow slope

01 / 06Mountaineering

Basic Mountaineering Training

Crampons, fixed ropes, roped travel on glaciers: the basics every future guide must own before leading a client.

In coordination with the NNMGA

01The training

The first step on the guide pathway. Trainees learn to move safely on snow and ice, to use fixed ropes, and to travel roped together on a glacier.

Everything is practised on easy slopes first, then on real mountain ground, until every movement becomes automatic.
